UNDERATTED FINGER MILLET(Ragi java) DRINK


Finger Millet in India it is known as "Ragi". It is one of the healthiest food and ancient food for more than 20 centuries. Finger Millet is cultivated in dryer parts of the world like Africa and Asia. Ragi has prepared in different dishes to keep good taste and healthy life mostly in south India.

One day I went to the village, I was totally amazed by seeing the farmer he was very ripped and healthy. And I asked the farmer 'What do you eat? In the market, you get the Ragi malted flour. Ragi had many different recipes but in this article, I am just saying the easy method of Ragi java.


RAGI JAVA (salt version)

INGREDIENTS

 3-4 tsp of ragi malted flour, water in the bowl, buttermilk or yogurt

PREPARATION

 Mix 3-4 tsp of ragi malted flour with a little bit of water, enough to make a paste, Boil 1 cup of water
Add salt and Add the ragi paste and cook for 2-3 minutes. After it cools down, add buttermilk/yogurt


RAGI JAVA(sweet version)

INGREDIENTS

3-4 tsp of jaggery, 3-4 tsp of ragi malted flour and 1 cup of water

PREPARATION

Mix 3-4 tsp of ragi malted flour with a little bit of water, enough to make like a paste, Boil 1 cup of water in the vessels (for best results use copper vessel). Add 3-4 tsp of jaggery now also add 1/4 tsp of cardamom powder. Add the ragi paste and cook for 2-3 minutes. You can have it either hot or cold
